Is this the era for Biodegradable liners?  New science has allowed us to overcome the problems with their breakdown in the landfills, where, in the past, lack of oxygen, moisture, bacteria, etc., did not allow bags to degrade for hundreds of thousands of years.  Exciting new products such as organic-based resin is coming along but has not turned the corner.  Performance and cost are far from the point of replacing polyethylene products. Our solution is a polyethylene liner with an additive that will start breaking down the bags within 6 months after customary disposal (documentation of testing is available). We realize that separating the waste stream is the key to a successful program for preserving our environment by composting, protecting our water table, etc., so we have designed our bags as follows:
